WASHING MACHINE PROBLEMS

LOUD NOISES

The most reoccurring type of washer repair is for loud sounds coming from the appliance. Repairmen can troubleshoot the cause of the loud noise and decide if we should repair or replace the broken parts in the washing machine. The source of the noise is usually due to a worn-down motor or worn-out belt or bearings.

DOESN’T TURN ON

When your washer will not turn on, first take a look to see if it’s unplugged or if a circuit breaker might have flipped off. The issue might also be due to a broken latch, timer or thermal fuse. A washing machine that doesn’t agitate means the cogs, coupler, drive belt or the transmission need repair or need replacement.

WON’T SPIN

A washing machine that won’t spin means there is a problem with the wax motor, door latch or motor coupling. We can repair these issues quickly and have your washer spinning again very soon!

OVERFLOWS

The usual reasons for a washer overflowing is the water inlet valve, water level pressure switch or the air dome tube on the machine.

WATER TEMPERATURE PROBLEMS

A malfunctioning temperature control switch or inlet hose is usually the reason a washing machine does not produce hot or cold water.

DRYER PROBLEMS

STRANGE SOUNDS

The most common dryer issue is loud noises coming from the appliance. Broken bearings, seals or worn belts often lead to strange noises from dryers.

WILL NOT DRY

A dryer that won’t produce enough heat to dry clothes is not very helpful. The cause of the problem is likely a broken high-limit thermostat, heating element or cycling thermostat. The same parts could cause a dryer to be too hot too. Our repairman will troubleshoot the dryer to uncover the issue and solution.

WILL NOT TUMBLE OR TURN ON

If your dryer doesn’t turn on, you first will want to be sure the appliance is not unplugged and all of the circuit breakers are on. If the dryer is plugged in and still does not turn on or tumble, the heating element, high limit thermostat or cycling thermostat will need to be repaired or replaced.

DOESN’T SHUT OFF

The exact opposite issue is if the dryer does not turn off. The cause of this problem is either a broken timer or door switch.

TIMER WON’T ADVANCE

A dryer timer must advance in order to complete the cycle. When the timer doesn’t advance, it could mean there’s a broken timer motor or cycling thermostat.
